Winter Technologies General Industries

The dedicated associates at Winter Technologies help solve developmental, manufacturing and process challenges in high purity metallic tubing and fittings applications for semiconductor, MEMS, nanotechnology, vacuum industries in 316L, 304L, 6 Moly such as, AL6XN and 254HMO, Nickel alloys like Inconel and Hastelloy. We are the foremost innovators of superior tubular products, selling and servicing projects, OEMs and MRO business worldwide. We work with the best tubing and pipe manufacturing companies in the world including Sandvik, Calamo and Dofasco. We specialize in CFOS (cleaned for oxygen service), special cleaning and packaging, electropolished, coaxial systems for ultra high purity systems. We have a global distribution network and our products have been used successfully throughout the world.

Another division of the company does special polishing, passivation and cleaning for our own products and contract services for others. If you are thinking about outsourcing these processes we are the pros to call.

The LaserTube Advantage

Refrigerator TubingLaserTube® GP is intended for general purpose applications of ASTM A249/A269 stainless steel tubing. Our laser welding process gives LaserTube GP™ a distinct advantage over TIG-welded tubes. The advantages of LaserTube GP include:

Better Weld Corrosion Resistance
The high heat concentration created by the laser welding process generates a deep, narrow weld with a significantly smaller heat-affected weld zone than the traditional TIG welded product. This makes the weld structure more corrosion resistant than TIG-welded stainless steel tubing.

Unsurpassed Quality
LaserTube GP minimizes many of the causes of weld rejections that are associated with TIG welded stainless steel tubing, such as: pitting at the weld, oxides, starbursts, weld slag and weld porosity.

Uniform Ductility
The narrow width of LaserTube GP’s weld makes it more ductile for bending, severe forming and flaring. It is also suitable for hydroforming applications.

Proven Performance
Cylinder of Tubes
In the ASTM A249-S7 weld decay tests, laser-welded tubes do not corrode to the extent of TIG-welded tubes. This means LaserTube GP holds up better than TIG-welded tubes in more corrosive atmospheres. In independent tests, 100% of the LaserTube welds tested passed the ASTM A249-S7 test without secondary annealing.

Available Inventory and Dependable Delivery Performance
LaserTube GP is readily available in standard lengths for quick delivery. We also maintain raw material in standard grades for short lead times on production orders.

Complete Documentation and Traceability
LaserTube GP documentation and material test reports are included with each shipment. They are also available on-line.

Most Modern Stainless Tube Facility in North America
Stove TubingLaserTube GP is produced in Elizabethtown, KY using state-of-the-art equipment engineered to attain the finest quality welded stainless tubing for the most demanding applications.

Alloy Grades
LaserTube GP can be made from any 300 series stainless steel, 6% Mo alloy, or duplex stainless grade to ASTM, ASME and/or customer specifications.

Quality Assurance
Dofasco Stainless Tubing is produced to ISO 9002 quality standards as certified by SAI Global, Inc.

First-Class Weld Integrity and Corrosion Resistance

LaserTube GP stainless steel tubing is ideal for use in heat transfer applications including: surface condensers and heat exchangers. LaserTube’s extremely narrow heat affected zone makes our tubing more corrosion resistant than conventionally made TIG-welded tubing. LaserTube GP is produced in accordance with ASTM A249 and ASME SA249
